Victorian Eastlake Restored Platform Rocker

more pictures

This Victorian, Eastlake platform rocking chair was made by Stein & Schmidt of Cincinnati, Ohio and is dated 1880 while the original patent was issued a few years earlier in 1875. When we recently fully restored and reupholstered it, we discovered a label by the firm who had reupolstered it for the first time in 1950. So now it should be ready to serve another 60 years or so before it may need to be reupholstered again. Can you think of any other furniture item that can serve so long and will again be worthy of restoration in the future? It is approximately 22 inches wide, 29 inches deep and about 35 inches high.
