Windsor Arm Chair

This is a classic arrow backed New England Windsor. It is an arm chair and even has additional arrow spindles on each arm. It has a solid plank seat and shows considerable wear on the bottom front stretcher which was obviously often used as a foot rest. It is signed on the bottom by John Wright who was the original maker in 1840 (East Springfield) and was again signed in 1890 by its then restorer. This is a very special primitive Windsor and it is in exceptionally good condition.
