Windsor Settee Rocking Chair

This very unusual and rare double rocking chair is a rod back Windsor with a solid plank double seat and hand turnings. It is made with peg and square nail construction and still has traces of its original black paint on the underneath surfaces. It is definitely New England but was found in an upscale Long Island, New York private estate. We estimate it dates back to the 1830-40s era.
