This little desk is made entirely out of cigar box parts. There is a hand written note that we found inside the desk that does stay with the piece and it says: "My mother's eldest brother, Harrison Burt, though having only one hand (the left one blown off in a mine explosion) carved this little desk for me a long time ago." It goes on and is difficult to read but does state they lived in Troy, New York. We estimate this little desk to have been made in the 1930s era.
